can you call a videophone using a webcam?

i have a deaf friend who has a videophone, but im having trouble figuring out how to call him from my webcam. if possible i'd like a free service. I know about VRS, and thats not what im looking for. do i have to somehow get my webcam a phone number so he can call it? any help is appreciated :-) i am on a mac and using a panasonic camcorder as a webcam.

1. YES with some phones you can. like Sony Ericsson P990i simple connect your CP to your PC and when using a messenger like yahoo. go to options and select view source. select phone camera. ^_^
2. Sorenson has a service called envision. It is a free download, however it really only works with really high-end webcams, but since it is from sorenson, it will work with their videophones.
